Horseshoe Bend to Host Third Annual Legends of the LPGA Event

>The Legends Tour, the official senior tour of the LPGA, announces its 3rd annual Charity Social Event, Golf Clinic and Pro-Am in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Legends of the LPGA will be the honored guests for this weekend-long event on September 18 – 19, 2010. The Legends will tee it up at The Golf Course on Turkey Mountain, so come out and cheer on your friends and neighbors as they compete with the LPGA Legends.

Baxter Regional Medical Foundation is the benefactor to this exciting event in the north central Arkansas community.

Events include a clinic at the course showcasing the swings of various Legends Tour professionals and a putting competition where anyone can challenge one of the LPGA Hall of Fame Legends. Also on the schedule is a Social Hour meet and greet an exciting opportunity to hear great stories about major championships, have fun and interact with the greatest lady professional golfers of all time, as well as a perfect photo opportunity.

Horseshoe Bend is one of the prettiest retirement communities in the U.S., nestled in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. Legends Tour President and former LPGA standout Jane Blalock sees it as a good fit for a pro-am that will grow into a full field tournament stop in subsequent years.

“We have a great fan base in the region who love coming out and watching the Legends of the LPGA tackle their local course. The players are once again looking forward to coming back to Horseshoe Bend – the hospitality is wonderful and the setting is beautiful.” said Blalock. “We are very encouraged by the commitment of local supporters and excited to build and grow a viable event in north central Arkansas.”

The Legends Charity Pro-Am will be the culminating event of this exciting community weekend in Horseshoe Bend. Activities designed for families and area residents will fill the 3rd weekend of September with the Legends Pro-Am finale on Sunday. Community members have a unique opportunity to show their support of The Legends Tour and their community all weekend long.
